It is with great pleasure that the leadership team and Board of Directors of Professional Pilots of Tomorrow announce the availability for donors to make contributions towards our organization. As many of you are aware, this process has been a long undertaking, nevertheless, we are excited by the prospects and opportunities it presents our organization as we continue to grow. This document is meant to explain in further detail the drive behind this initiative, how donations will be appropriated and what it means for those who donate.
Since the beginning, Professional Pilots of Tomorrow has sought to become a community of pilots that supports each other through volunteerism. The role and responsibility of the leadership team has been to manage the direction of this organization in such a way that encourages continued growth while maintaining a level of service that equals the efforts of our members. Up until now, all investments and operational costs have been self-funded by the PPOT Board of Directors. While manageable in the beginning, it has become clear that in order to sustain both the growth and level of service warranted by our members, the organization must seek alternative means of generating money.
Our current cost structure is relatively simple. Monthly expenditures are broken down into website, email servers and marketing initiatives, boosting posts on Facebook. Additionally, we pay for services such as tax, accounting and initial investments made towards establishing the 501 (c)(3). In supporting our mission, PPOT is often invited to attend career fairs and expos by other Non-Profit organizations. Attending such events costs money as does our need to market ourselves appropriately. This includes PPOT merchandise, banners, flyers and other means of maximizing exposure while in attendance. Contributions will be used towards managing the cost of operation, however, we do reserve the right to appropriate funds as the organization sees fit.
As a donor, you will receive a receipt from Alpos, our accounting and banking business partner. This receipt, along with a personalized email from the Board of Directors, should be saved and used for personal tax purposes. All contributions made on our website are voluntary and because no goods or services are provided in return, the full amount donated is tax deductible.
We hope you, the PPOT community of pilots, are as excited as we are for what lies ahead. We would not be where we are today without your involvement and commitment to our cause. Just like our process of connecting pilots is as simple as a brief phone call, even a small donation goes a long way. As always, thank you for your continued support.
